Scotch Whisky Experience - Edinburgh
25th of August 2012

After my discovery that I liked Whisky I kind of regretted not visiting the Scotch Whisky Experience during out motorbike tour of Scotland and our visit to Edinburgh. {link} So I decided to head back to Edinburgh the next year and make up for this 'mistake'. I took the plane and following a short bus ride I ended up in the city center.

After a short tour over familiar ground it was finally time to walk up the Royal Mile...

...and visit The Scotch Whisky Experience.

Without giving to much away I joined the Silver tour allowing me in the Barrel Ride, a quick introduution to the Whisky Regions and their specific characteristics. At the end of the tour I was dropped at the bar and could I enjoy my 4 drams of Whisky included in the tour.

After the Tour I made a short walk to another 'hobby' of mine. The Hard Rock Cafe.

Following a good meal was it time for another walk (uphill) to find my (student) Hotel and bed at the Pollock Halls.

On my way back I stopped at the Whisky Shop at the Airport to collect some memorabilia.

Scotch Whisky Experience - Edinburgh
06th of April 2013

After I got back from my trip in 2012 to Edinburgh and The Scotch Whisky Experience several mates asked if I was going to do (something like) it again. And as it seemed to be more fun with more people I decided to go again this year, but now with some friends. Again with the plane, and bus, and an extra day....

With a Guesthouse in the center and a view on the Castle we took the first day to visit the Palace of Holyrood House at the bottom of the Royal Mile Obviously we had to finish the day off with a Scotch in a Pub. My first encounter with the Lagavulin 16....

01 02 03

The Second day we started with a 'climb' up the Mile to visit the Castle and watch the One O' Clock gun firing. After a quick lunch we headed over to the The Scotch Whisky Experience.

04 05 06

This time I brought a smaller camera allowing me to take pictures of the big collection of Whisky.

After the tour we ended again in the bar for a tasting :-)

With a souvenir from the Mile and a 'Travel Exclusive' from the airport we returned home as happy men.
